Der Grundgedanke dieser Arbeit war, den Schwarz/Weiß-Film „Laura“ von Otto Preminger aus dem Jahre 1944 anhand von ausgewählten Filmszenen im Stil einer Graphic Novel zu beschreiben. 

Das Ergebnis sind aufschlussreiche Charakterstudien der drei Haupt-

akteure. Im Mittelpunkt der Handlung steht die umworbene Laura Hunt, ihr egozentrischer und eifersüchtiger Mentor Waldo Lydecker und der in seinen Gefühlen verstrickte Detektiv Mark McPherson. 

Es ist interessant zu beobachten, wie unterschiedlich sich die Personen  verhalten, genauer gesagt: wie sie vom Regisseur Otto Preminger in Szene gesetzt wurden. Agieren sie zugewandt oder abgewandt? Positiv oder negativ? 

Eine zusätzliche Dimension bekommt das gesamte Geschehen durch den Einsatz des Lichtes. Es spielt für die Bildkomposition eine wichtige Rolle. Dass die Bilder so eindrucksvoll sind, liegt an der Kameraarbeit von Joseph LaShelle. Er wurde dafür mit einem Oscar belohnt.

Sowohl der Film als auch die unsterbliche Filmmusik von David Raksin, die den Film untermalt und ihm nach Meinung mancher den Status eines Klassikers verleiht - ist das Nonplusultra des Hollywood-Noir-Glamours: ein düsteres Meisterwerk. 

The basic idea of this work was to describe the black and white film "Laura" by Otto Preminger from 1944 using selected film scenes in the style of a graphic novel. 

The results are revealing character studies of the three main characters. The plot centres on the courted Laura Hunt, her egocentric and jealous mentor Waldo Lydecker and the detective Mark McPherson, who is caught up in his feelings. 

It is interesting to observe how differently the characters behave, or more precisely: how they were staged by director Otto Preminger. Do they turn towards or away? Positive or negative? 

The use of light adds an additional dimension to the entire film. It plays an important role in the composition of the images. The fact that the images are so impressive is down to Joseph LaShelle's camera work. He was rewarded with an Oscar for his work.

Both the film and the immortal score by David Raksin, which accompanies the film and, according to some, gives it the status of a classic - is the ultimate in Hollywood noir glamour: a dark masterpiece.
